Swimming – Lose Weight, Feel Great!

Swimming. It’s not only for cooling off after spending a day in the sun or to horse around with your kids on a summer day; it’s also an effective way to work out and lose weight. So, don a swimsuit and slip into the lap pool in our Aquatics Center – it’s time to shake up your fitness routine.

One of the main advantages of swimming over other forms of exercise is that it’s gentle on your joints. If you struggle with joint pain or are healing from an injury, getting in the pool is an excellent way to rehabilitate your body and engage in a physically demanding workout that will ensure you’re burning calories and boosting your heart rate in a low-impact way.

Swimming is an effective cross-training workout for runners and cyclists, as it will work different muscle groups in your body and allow the muscles that carry you through runs and bike rides time to rest. This way, you’re still working out at a high level, but not fatiguing the muscles you need for that next training run.

Aqua Combo:  Combination of Hi/Lo Water Aerobics, muscle sculpting, water walking and stretching at the end.

Moving Easy:  Slow and gentle movement of water exercises designed to increase joint movement, flexion, and relieve stiffness of the joints, while helping to increase muscle strength.

Aqua Fit

WATERinMOTION:  A pre-choreographed group aqua exercise program.  With land equivalent intensity, fantastic sign-along quality music, and dynamic instructors, enjoy the pure fun of this 55 min water extravaganza.

Aqua Zumba:  Come join our Pool Party!  A safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body toning, and most of all exhilarating beyond belief.  (Scheduled in Salem).
